Available Jindo:  Alex

Alex is a three year old red, female Jindo mix who lives in Lawrence, KS.  She is spayed and is current on vaccinations.  She weighs about 43 pounds.

Her owner has to travel a lot due to her job.  In the year 2007, the owner had to leave Alex at kennels or under the care of her neighbors for almost 6 months (gone from a week to 3 months).  The owner's job continuously requires a lot of traveling and it may not be in the best interest of Alex to be with the current owner.  Her owner does care about her very much and would like to find a home where people will be home more often.

Alex plays well with all the dogs at the dog day care center.  Alex also has a sister Sahn (younger Jindo) and she loves her sister.  Alex has shown aggressive behavior towards a neighbor's cat and should not live with cats.

Alex does not live with children and should not be placed in a home with children under 14 years old.  Alex seems to get intimidated by kids with bikes and scooters and she does not seek to enjoy kids petting her head.  Please note all children must be supervised by parents when interacting with dogs.  Alex gets along with calm, respectful and mature teenagers with a proper introduction.  Alex seems to show attraction with males more than females at times.  Alex barks when people walk by her house or fence.  Alex is friendly with strangers with a proper introduction.  At first Jindos can be wary and aloof when they initially meet new people.

Alex enjoys going for daily walks or running with her owner.  Jindos must be walked on leash at all times since they are not reliable off leash.

Alex favorite activities are chasing birds, squirrels and chasing her sister Sahn, also a Jindo. Alex likes to swirl around people's legs like cats, shakes hand, shows tummy and waits to be rubbed.  She folds her front legs when she lays down which makes her look so sexy.

Alex hates nail clipping but does well with bathing.  She does bark when she hears loud noises.

Alex is an indoor dog who is used to living indoors with her family and she also enjoys going outside.  Dogs are pack animals and prefer to live inside with their family members.  She is house trained, crate trained and is well behaved in the house.  She does not chew.  Caution must be taken around doors since she does have a tendency to door bolt.

Please complete an application and mention Alex in the comments section if you can provide a loving and appropriate home.  Home visit and vet references required.  Adoption fee $100.  Loving homes only who are looking for a companion.
