Available Jindo:  Gabe

Gabriel is a four year old red, male Shiba or small Jindo living in Arizona.  (He was formerly living in  Eat Hampton, CT). He only weighs about 23 pounds, is neutered and current on vaccinations.

Gabriel needs a new home since his owner is currently deployed and having someone watch over him now. His owner deploys 6 months out of the year, every year and does not have enough time for Gabe.

Gabriel usually leaves dogs alone unless they enter his territory. If introduced to the other dogs, he doesn't have a problem. If that dog becomes aggressive towards him, he will do the same. He likes to chase small dogs around too. He was raised with a female american blue nose pitbull. He has no problems and likes female dogs. He has never lived with cats and it is unknown how he would do with them.

Gabriel does well with older children and teenagers who have been taught how to respect a dog. He also does well with most respectful strangers. He does not live with children, but he is kind to any kids that come to the house or he sees when out for a walk. He actually doesn't really pay attention to anyone. Anybody who comes around he will bark to let someone know, but as soon as they are in the house he doesn't care about them. Just a friendly bark when someone rings the bell or knocks on the door.

He loves to play with a tennis ball. You can throw it for hours and he will not stop. He also loves using a frisbee which he likes to catch. Anything that bounces he will play with. He also loves tug robes to clean his teeth and play tug o' war with.

He does not like loud noises. He was a bomb squad mascot, but when he hears loud booms he tries to hide.

He was trained by the military and knows a ton of tricks. He is very loyal. When another family was watching him the mother and father got into a motorcycle accident and had head trauma. When they finally came home, Gabe jumped on the bed and curled up right next to their heads knowing that something wasn't right. He only barks when someone is around the area. He listens very well once you get to know him.

He knows the basics, sit, shake and high five. He knows to grab his toy when you tell him toy.

Gabriel is an indoor dog. Dogs are pack animals and prefer to live inside with their family members. Caution must be taken around doors since Gabriel does have a tendency to door bolt especially in new environments which is typical for the breed.
