Available Jindo:  Renge

Renge, pronounced Raingay is a three year old white Jindo living in Los Angeles , CA . He weighs about 43 pounds, is neutered and current on vaccinations.

Renge needs a new home since his owner is not able to have two dogs where they live.

Renge will be placed as an only dog. He is generally undisturbed by other males or females from a distance, but depending on the male can be aggressive in close contact. He is not yet socialized enough to play well at the dog park and gets very aggressive. Most Jindos do not do well at dog parks and should not be taken there. He would not likely do well with cats.

Renge does well with older children and teenagers who have been taught how to respect a dog. He also does well with most respectful strangers. He is always respectful and mostly
uninterested. He should not live with small children due to his toy possessiveness.

He has bitten at family at various times, though never broken skin. Mostly in toy aggression, and primarily when he was first brought home.

He enjoys running and playing with just one other dog he knows. He also loves chew toys with food in them. He is very loyal, playful, respectful and warm. Every time his owners walk by him, his tail wags.

He knows how to sit, stay, wait outside the house to be invited in, stay outside the kitchen area during cooking, and a couple other commands.  Most of the time spent has been on focusing on getting him balanced rather that teaching him tricks.  However,  he does know how to give a kiss before he eats. He is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He usually gets a 30-40 minute run in the morning and a 30 minute walk in the evening.

He is not food aggressive, and he has learned to play very well with our other dog, a much smaller terrier mix. He still shows signs of toy aggression, (likes to steal socks), though he has made great progress. He walks very well, close to his owner, attentive, with a loose leash, needing occasional reminders to heel. He usually stays focused on his owner, giving little attention to passing dogs, birds, squirrels and the like. Very loving once he trusts you, good with people, generally doesn't like quick movements toward him. Is still prone to chewing the fences in the backyard and escaping.  He does like to dig if he can.

Renge is an indoor dog. Dogs are pack animals and prefer to live inside with their family members. Caution must be taken around doors since Jindos have a tendency to door bolt especially in new environments which is typical for the breed.

Please complete an application and mention Renge in the comments section if you can provide a loving and appropriate home. Home visit and vet references required. Adoption fee $100. Loving homes only who are looking for a companion.
